How to Design a Standard Course Syllabus

On Monday, September 05, 2016, Twana A. Tahir / Director of the office of quality assurance and accreditation (OQAA) presented a workshop entitled “How to Design a Standard Course Syllabus “to the university Lecturers at KUST- Komar University of Science and Technology for semester Fall 2016. In the workshop, he mainly focused on the following points:

  • Implementing MHE policy and regulation for QA.
  • Implementing KUST policy and regulation for QA.

Besides that, the processes for preparing a Standard Course Syllabus” were explained in detail to the faculty members by providing a session for practical part. The workshop mainly covered the following topics.

  • What is a course syllabus?
  • Purpose of course syllabus
  • Schools of syllabus
  • General framework for syllabus design
  • What do you need before course syllabus design?
  • The common components of a syllabus
  • Self-assessment and syllabus checklist

This workshop was a part of series workshops that will be conducted according to the Quality Assurance Calendar for semester Fall 2016.
