Quality Assurance Office participates in a joint symposium With SPU.

On 10th February 2019 and in Hotel Titanic Hall, Komar University of Science and Technology, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, University of Sulaimani, Raparin University and Cihan University of Sulaimaniya, held a joint symposium on “The State of the Public and Private Universities in Kurdistan Region and their Common Denominators”.Firstly, Mr. Twana Tahir, Director of the Office of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Komar University, talked about the academic system; he explained with examples, and detailed rectified data that Komar enjoys a high academic level. He ascribed this to implementing the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and also to observing international standards of academic quality.Secondly, Prof. Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali, President of Komar University, who was one of the keynote speakers of the panel of the symposium, elaborated on the significance of the positive role of the public and private universities. He also showcased Komar University as a leader in developing the academic quality in Kurdistan Region. Moreover, he shed light on the importance of student-centered teaching-learning process and explained that such pedagogy will produce knowledgeable and skillful graduates adhering to humanitarian ethics.Finally, in addition to appreciating the organizers of the symposium, the attendees praised Komar University for being a pioneer in upgrading the academic quality of higher education in the region. They also recommended following Komar University’s successful model so as to be able to academically solve the crises and develop the country.
